Who processes your data

Data controller: [to be completed]. Contact for privacy matters and for reports: [to be completed]. Omega is an independent project: it is not connected to Sony Interactive Entertainment and does not use its accounts or its servers.

What data we collect

Account: online ID, password (stored only as a scrypt hash, never in plain text), email if you provide one, the avatar and cover image you upload, profile text, sign-up date and last login. Social features: friendships and friend requests, online status and the title you are using (sent by your console while you play), recent activity, direct messages, party chats and invitations, notifications. Store: the homebrew you publish, comments, likes/dislikes, ratings, reports, number of installs. Personal library: the address of your JSON file and the list of titles it contains (name, images, links). Technical data: for every request to the server we record IP address, date and time, requested path (including the address of pages opened with the Omega browser), outcome and timings. Passwords, tokens and cookies are masked and are never saved in the logs.

Why, and on what legal basis

To provide the service you asked for (account, social features, Store, library): performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. For security, to prevent abuse and to handle reports: legitimate interest and legal obligations concerning hosted content, Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(c). We do not use your data for advertising or profiling and we do not sell it.

For how long

Technical request logs are deleted after 30 days. Account data and content remain until you delete your account; sessions expire after 24 hours. Closed reports and the log of moderation actions are kept for as long as they are needed to demonstrate how content was handled.

Who can see it

Other users see your public profile, what you publish and, if you are friends, your presence and activity. Messages are seen only by their recipients. The data is stored on a server managed by the controller, which acts as data processor. When you install a homebrew or open a web page, the console or our server connects to the site hosting that file or page: that site's privacy notice applies.

Your rights

You can access your data and download it (Settings → Privacy and data → Download my data), correct it, delete it (Delete account), object to its processing or request its restriction, by writing to [to be completed]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).

Minimum age

The service is reserved for people aged at least 14.
